Default Driver's Side Window Problem

I have a 2008 PT Cruiser Convertible that I purchased last year. Everything works and runs great. I'm a snow bird, so before I left in April, I disconnected the negative terminal on my battery. I returned this month (December), reconnected the negative battery cable, and everything works well again, except my driver's side window. The window does go all the way up, except the last fraction of an inch. Usually goes up after you close the door. I already tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes; once with the window all the way up and once with the window down. Nothing worked. Can someone help me? I called the dealer and they want $100 to reset the computer. BOGUS....

One member tried this method in the link below and it worked. Let me know if that method works for you. If not there is another method that might work.

Smart Glass Modual Repaired.

I tried it. I disconnected my battery cables, touched them together, left them disconnected for 15 minutes, touched them together again, and re-connected them. Sat in my vehicle with the windows already up and held the up button for 5-6 seconds and nothing.....window is still in the same position.

The method below is suppose to reflash the Smart Glass Module. Let us know if this helps.

1. Open both doors - provides a faster voltage decay in the Smart Glass Module.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Keep the battery disconnected for a minimum of 1 hour.
4. Reconnect the negative battery cable

Unfortunately that didn't work either.

I opened both doors.

Disconnected and isolated the negative battery cable; for an hour and half.

Reconnected the negative cable. Closed the passenger door and once closed the window went up the rest of the way.

I then closed the driver's side door, and the window dis not go up any further.

I'm lost!!!!!!!!

Have you tried putting down the top, put the top back up and then try the methods posted above?

No, I haven't.

However, I will try it now and let you know. Maybe, I'll try putting the top down, the windows down, then follow the above procedure.

I'm completely lost. Nothing worked. Everything works fine; it's only the driver's side window...and it's only the fraction of an inch it goes up when you close the door. Passenger door works fine! Do you think it could be something else? Again, the only thing I did prior, was disconnect the negative cable for 7 months while I was back up north.

Unfortunately, you may be at the mercy of having to go to the dealership to have it reprogrammed. I was searching online and a few of the posts I found on the subject of the SmartGlass module says to connect the Star Scan unit, which I believe only dealerships have.
