Default External Headlights

A guy near my work, local body shop covered over the stock headlights and mounted some 40s style tear drops on the fender above the stock headlights. At first I was thinking it looked stupid. The car is finish painted now, looks less stupid, but still stupid. Well not for my tastes. What do you all think of that? No pictures, just visualize it.

There's been lots of owners that have done the headlight mod with custom bullet or built-in retro headlights. if the rest of the car is modded in the retro fashion it can be really nice. Here's some examples.

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.

I've wanted to do this to "Retro" almost since the day I bought it, but still haven't found exactly the right look. The top one above is the closest I've found so far, but still hasn't convinced me to start cutting yet..

I'd love to see pictures of what he did...

The car you like is from Russia. Here's another pic and the web site it came from....

Those look sweet! This guy mounted separate lights to the top of the fenders. I will try to get a pic.

It's not really my thing, but I think if i did it I would be more likely to go with a modern round headlight. Something more like a W210 E-Class Mercedes. Like Trepanier did with the Sniper. Of course that probably wouldn't be a big enough jump backwards in styling for guys looking to do this mod.
