Default front and rear light covers

Everytime I see the listing on a web page selling the light covers, they always say it is illegal to drive with them on? I always see cars with these covers on driving around, do they cut down on the amount of light produced?, I like them, but it makes no sense to buy em for show only, if you can't drive around with them on/ any comments? turbomangt

I've checked out a hundred covers too and can't seem to get any consistency in what is said. I think it's because laws vary from county to county and state to state. Maybe a call to local PD or State Troopers would be best?

Do you know if they cut down on the amount of light produced?
