Default Front Bumper Interchange?

Can someone please tell me if the front bumper assembly from a 2006 PTC can be easily installed on a 2005 year model PTC. Thanks for any help to my question.

You'll have to change the headlights as well as they are different shape.

Won't that look a little odd with a Gen2 bumper on the front and a Gen1 still on the rear?

You'll have to put out the bucks for new headlight assemblies too.

I'n my humble opinion I prefer the early model front for classic appearance but if it's just from your standpoint of availability I think the '06 front end'd hook up, considering the differences in headlight assemblies.

The answer to the question is NO!
To be sure any good body man worth his salt could do it but.....
I am curious why you would want to do this? Is it for looks or did you have a theory in mind about function?

I've installed original type front and rear end bumper covers on SOOO BIG myself. No big deal if you know what your dealing with. Do you think the '06 and on up is that eccentrically differently shaped that it just won't fit the early model PT? I'm guessing he might have that '06 front end available for a song. I figured it'd just be a headlight assembly exchange to accommodate the '06 bumper cover.

car-part.com ( a nation wide search engine of participating salvage yards ) shows the 06+ fenders to be different than the 05 and down. Could be upper portion of headlight shape.

The lower rad cross member is different also but according to a Chrysler parts lookup, newer will fit older but not other way round.

car-part ( Hollander interchange ) is probably still going off the Chrysler part numbers. According to the Chrysler fender parts listing, 02 is different from 06. The 02 fenders are discontinued.

Hollander is more interested in 1 to 1 fitment when it comes to body parts vs a " will work "part.

On the Chrysler site, the fender base number is the same but the suffix is different, this generally is an engineering change / some other difference that may or not matter.

Is there a "verified parts interchange" sticky on this site? It would be helpful to others in the future.

i like the front bumpers from the 06's and up. I think they stick out less than the 05's and older. But i like the headlights from the 05's and older. I was never a fan of that dip in the middle of the light on the 06's
