Default Any one have a KBD Rollpan ?

I was wondering if any of you have this one on your PT's. The previous rollpan that i found at a junkyard had the holes for the license plate light and even though it didn't have the housings for the reverse lights, i was able to engineer some brackets (posted in the what did you do to your PT thread). And they have held up great so far. I got this one because it had the dual exhaust openings.

But this rollpan has none of those, and it also doesn't have that "lip" that sort of hugs the top of the body (right under the rear door hatch). And it also doesn't have any hole screws for the bolts along the inside edge like others do.

If anyone can point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it. I will be taking off the current one i have and try to figure out how to mount this thing, but if i can get pointers or guidance that will make it easier that would be great.

Here's the KBD rollpan:

As you can see it had two "ears" on each side, but i'm not sure it will hold as tight like my currrent one.

I don't feel comfortable doing that and driving on the highway. Specially the 80mph toll roads.

Per KBD:

KBD Body Kits recommends the 3M automotive- grade VHB double-sided tape. For extra security, screws or rivets may be used as well.

That looks like their Premium version and they say it needs to be professionally installed.

When I had the '04 and was considering modding the body KBD told me most of the rear pans required modifying the dual exhaust to get it to fit. Measure first!

Well that's just great.

If i would have known all that i wouldn't have bought it. I'm still gonna test fit it and see if i can figure it out.

Thanks man.

Encountered this vehicle the other day on the highway. Watch the rear bumper of the silver car in front of me in my lane:

I'm sure the first shop added some mounting screws on mine.
I can hang on it pretty darn hard, without any movement.

Can you take a few pics of the top edge with the back hatch open. I may be able to get an idea how they did it. If i can use screws. I would rather do that. I'm definitely not fond of the
the tape idea.

How did they attatch the reverse lights? Did your roll pan include any hardware from the selling company?

1. No hardware with the roll pan. So, I am assuming that just normal body parts mounting gear would have been used.
I do know that the guy wanted the middle of the top of the roll pan to fit tighter, and used some type of bracket there. Not sure what he did.

But, I know that there are large tabs that stick upwards on the left and right, where the hatch lid closes, that the shop was concerned about.
I told them "no problem", as it is only a day driver.
But, I may take another look and even "secure" those tabs

2. I will take you a picture with the hatch open the next time I'm over there.

3. BE AWARE: You will not be able to use your reverse light housings, "as is"!
The OEM light mounting is horizontal. The roll pan is obviously closer to the bumper frame, and the reverse lights mount vertically! There is a top and bottom flange on the bumper frame that comes rearward towards the roll pan, and that will interfere with the reverse light housing going in!
*You can see these flanges in my license plate light picture in my project series.

See My description and solution to this problem in the Forum on "Members PT Projects". I cut a half inch section out of the housing, epoxied, and gasket siliconed them back together. I did the test fit last night!

Whoa! Man, I'm really regretting this purchase.

I simply don't have time right now to try and figure all this out.

I may have to put this off to a later date.

Thanks man. I really appreciate you taking the time to take the pics and stuff.
