Default Engine Modesty cover

I received my engine modesty cover for my 2003 and installed this morning. For all those that don't have it, get one. Man what a difference. It's not chromed or anything just the stock one they left off of 2003 models. I'm surprized that DC wouldn't keep this just for the dress up it gives the engine compartment[^]

Gonzo,

Some poor guy on the assemly line got a $50 savings bond for coming up with the idea to leave it off. Chrysler saved $1000's by not putting them on and you think they're worried about dressing up the engine compartment? Add to that, the missing cargo net, passenger door lock, lighted switches, movable outside mirrors and we're talking loads of $$$$.

Technobear,

By "table", do you mean to say you bought a new PT and didn't get the rear shelf????

Technobear,
I copied this from another forum for you, but beleive me it makes a difference. The modesty cover part number is 04891435-AD.
The official MOPAR name is COVER.
The mounting studs part number is 06506452AA.
The official MOPAR name is STUD.
Total cost to me was 64.08 with tax.
But keep checking the want ads on the forums

Yes the rear shelf, And i know its supposed to be "standard" but when i asked my dealer about getting one wheni bought the car he said that it wasnt necessary so they wouldnt give me one. The missing items is the only thing that makes buying the pt a bad experience for me.

Huh??? If it's "standard" equipment...your supposed to get it. You didn't say what year your PT is....maybe it's not "standard" as Chrysler did stop installing them in 2002 or 03...not sure exactly when.
