Those small chrome mirrors really look good on your cruiser.
IMHO That's what is great about this car there are so many
options and which ever you choose will look great.I don't think you can go wrong. Paint this, don't paint that . It's all good!

For those of you who had your mirrors done professionally, what did it cost, for prep and paint. I can remove and re-instal, but I am not very good with paint at all. I would end up getting runs and such.

I am been wanting to do this a while, but havent had the time, plus its my daily driver, so I cant really go without mirrors! I am planning to put in the new mirror glass that has the turn signal lights behind the mirror, so I would like to have it done at the same time, again, I can do all the mechanical, but I just dont know how to paint and prep.

Thanks,
Matt

I thought about having mine done and had mine quoted at about $95 per mirror. I thought it was rather expensive so I held off on it. Also, after having tinted windows, the black mirrors would blend in better with the black windows, so I decided against painting my mirrors.

Considering the sanding that is required, I am not sure that $95 per mirror is terribly out of line. Expensive but it is a good size job to do it right.

I like the looks of the entire area of the windows and tinting and mirrors being black. I Use Armor All sheets to do the mirrors. It makes them dark black and also makes the bugs wash off with ease. We had our GEO Tracker for 10 and a half years and the only thing that didn't hold up were the painted mirrors, and that was with tender loving care. But, again to each his own, if it makes you happy, go for it. For me I like the blacked out look.

Hey guys, don't get my wrong. I love the black look of the mirrors. As a matter of fact, my whole car is black. And that is where my dilema lies. I have the car highy polished and waxed, and it's shiney black and chrome all over. Everything shines, but the mirrors. That's why I want to paint them to match the body. They will be highly polished and waxed, shiny mirrors rather than dull mirrors. The only difference would be that they will be the black of the car and not the textured black look. Haven't had the chance to do it yet. Hopefully I do it soon.

Taikuchin, where did you obtain the chrome mirrors? I have done the retro look also and feel this would enhance the effect. What is the installation like? Thanks

Got the mirrors from pteazer, here: http://www.limboland.net/Merchant2/m...&Store_Code=pt

Installation was a snap. If you decide to go for it I can give you some hints.

They're a bit pricey & I waited a long time checking out other options, but finally couldn't stand looking at those plastic monsters that came with the car & bit the bullet & ordered them. They are absolutely top quality & fit as well as OEM. Couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the info...have to agree, they are pricey but like you will probably have to go for it.
