Lower Grill removal

Nobody told me what a PITA the lower grill is to take off.
Got a EG chrome grill from santa.Not quite done , will post pics later.
For those that don't know. The lower grill is held on by
6 11mm nuts. 2 on the bottom and 2 on each side.The only way
I could get at them was to remove the3 screws underneath and the 3 on each side and one press on washer . Had the car on ramps.
Than I could pull the lower cover down just enough to get at those
wonderful nuts.Was there an easier way? I went to the dealer
and asked, thinking they might have a magic tool,But they didn't.

Did you have a post yesterday askeing how to take off the lower grill? I was entering a reply, and got "that post no longer exists"!!

Anyway - the lower grill is all one piece below the bumper, isn't it? Are the foglights attached? What did you replace with?

I'm confused about why you'd remove the lower grille/fascia. When I had the OEM bumper and got my E&G chrome grille, I just put the grille over the lower OEM grille - per the instructions.

But talk about PITA - - - if you get the Crusher, you have to grind down most of the fins to make the E&G lower fit in the Crusher's lower slot!

I tried it that way but I didn't like how it stuck out.And I have a factory chrome grill and didn't want to do any grinding on it.So
I did it the hard way.

Don , I had a post,but took it off ,because I figured out how to do it.I know I was supposed to leave the bottom grill on and put the EG
Grill over it,but I had a oem chrome grill and it just didn't fit
right over the top and I didn't want to ruin it.I had to make some
little brackets to hold the bottom on ,but all is well now.

Jimbo, that grill looks awesome on white and with that hood. Santa got me one too, waiting for some nice weather to install it.
