Nice Wicked, is that your ride?[?]

OK here is what I'm thinking of doing, I'll try and do a front profile composite next. So what I am trying to do is give it a Prowler front, Shave the door handles and badging, Smoothy roll pan, Lower and extend the wheels out, Chop the top, with a Matte Black paint job.

With red wheels

Hmmmmm! Sticking the Prowler front end on, and a smoothie rear roll pan....it sorta looks like an elongated Prowler with a roof and 4 doors. [:I]

No that was not my ride. Mine looks better. I just used that along with photoshop to try and explain the color combo I was talking about.

That looks like it could have potential. But red wheels???? And why would you want the front end to stick out farther than the back? It is usually the other way around. Rear wheels are wider and front are smaller and not as wide of a stance. But the shape looks cool!

Well my composite isn't up to par, and yes the rear wheels look closer together than the front, which I ment for them to look paralel. But the idea is there, I'm looking to remove the front fenders to create an open wheel look, i.e. the vw's posted earlier. What I'm trying to accomplish is to go for a bare bones, minimalist approach to hot rod building. Since I am not starting from an old clunker from the junk yard, like most gearheads, I need to strip down the PT of most non essential parts, like door handles, interior paneling, back seats, fenders, etc. I'm not just going to give it a matte black paint job, I'm going to be giving it a totally new personality, in the same lineage of old time hot rodders. Check out the work of Fred Hidalgo, Robert Ortiz, and other VW enthusiasts. I'm just thinking of taking the PT into that realm of hot rod design.

I wish you luck with this, but think it out and measure twice, cut once. I've seen PTs without the front fenders, and they don't have the "fenderless" look I think you are looking for. It'll take a good bit of work to make it look right. Do a search for wrecked PTs online (or locally), and check the inner fender area and front edge of the door area.
EDIT there is a small picture, about 2/3 down this page

Here is another cool paint job using flat black and red as a 2-tone look. This is what I was thinking. But I would reverse the colors with black on the bottom, and red on top.

By the way, that is the wost looking body kit I've ever seen. APC needs to go back to the drawing board.

I think it's a great direction for PT lovers to consider. With so many sold, there has to be mods in the future to build a "youth" or alternative to us old farts base. Hopefully, 5-10 years from now there will be alot of custom, modded or "hotrodded" PT's cruising.
I built a "streetrod" style bug in 1992...fenderless, dumped in front, primer grey, red suspension, yellow wheels, trim rings, sunroof from the windshield to the back window, nerf bars, custom tailights, dietz headlights mounted to the nerfbars...was really different then, kind of a forerunner to the current "volksrods". So I say, cut a new path for others to follow.
The front suspension may be a real downfall tho. With the FWD setup and all, could look really messy. But I could see black satin, teardrop tailights, painted steelies, rake, need to get the stance just right. [?]

That's an SRT-4. Front end and hood are OEM. Skirts are kinda goofy and the ironing board's gotta go. Paint job is ok tho.
