Just a question, but has anyone tried to wax a flat black paint job? I wonder how that would look. I'm not against the flat black idea, I just wonder.

Wax??? why would you want to wax it, it's the Mad Max look, do you think Max ever stopped to wax his ride... wash it maybe.

But I know you can spray some car tire foam cleaner, like Black Magic onto a sponge and it will make it nice and rich again if it gets to light. Just make sure you wash and dry it like you normaly do first. You won't want to wax it. |

STRANGELOVE,
I like the red wheels look....for what it's worth. |

Right on andym, Red wheels, I think would look awesome. Havn't had much time to give the PT design since work is keeping me busy, but I just bought "The Legend Of Johnny Cash" CD and the cd itself is matte black with gloss black "Johnny Cash" letters. Man it looks sweet. The cd has a great insert photo too.

Regarding the pix of the SRT-4: Lose the body kit and goofy wing and I actually realy like the dark wheels and the paint job. Not over the top at all (my delete options mentioned above put it over the top though, IMHO).
Regarding the red wheels on a flat black PT: In a word, no. Were it my car I'd do the red over flat black and then fit black thin spoked wheels and paint the calipers to match the red upper portion. The wheels wouldn't even have a polished lip and I might even paint them the same flat black as the body. To me the red wheels have "Uncle Ben,s" written all over them. Once you get the mean look to the car, what sort of performance mods have you done, or what do you have planned? It would be outrageous to have such a bad azz looking car with a big turbo kit under the hood running low 13s in the 1/4 mile. |

"Uncle Ben's" LMAO. All my mods on the car has been to the suspension, sway, tower strut, bushings, coilovers, wheel spacers, and Z rated tires. I've been happy with the body style and engine so far. My moto if it ain't broke don't fix it. Since I've had the car for four years now things will start breaking down and bumps and dings will need to be smoothed out. Once I start bodywork and repainting, I think I want to start replacing and re-styling as I go. Engine mods are going to be the last thing I work on, since I plan on getting every once of value out of this PT, not because I'm a penny pincher, but because my mortgage and wife require it.
When the engine eventually needs some work, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go Stage I, port and polish the heads, bigger WGA, bigger turbo, Plastic Manifold, inducted hood scoop CAI, 3 inch downpipe, to Mopar duals. 250 HP would be my goal, anything more would be suicide, I'm looking forward to having kids. I've been reading up on alternative performance modifications and if any of these things become available to the public I might even incorporate a performance hybrid in wheel motors to power the rear wheels. Check out this link to what Mitsubishi is doing to their Evo line. http://www.megawattmotorworks.com/di...icle&artid=172 If things progress we should start seeing bolt on hybrid performance kits before long. Also check out what these kids built in their auto shop, a hybrid performance car, built off an Attack kit car, with a hybrid electric engine powering the front wheels (0 to 60) in four seconds!!! diesel engine powering the rear wheels (50 mpg) fuel economy, Very innovative, very interesting. http://www.autoauditorium.com/TdS_Re...hotos_007.html With all the bodywork it should lighten things up a bit, removing the fenders, back seats, chopping the top. I'm also thinking of going with the AGP carbon fiber hood and rear hatch. The goal here is to shed as much excess weight off the PT as possible. Lightweight aluminum rims, red even. Call me Uncle Ben, but damn red wheels just gets me going. So as time goes, things break and need replacing and modifying, doors that ding and need repainting the above mentioned is the blueprint of what I plan on doing to my PT. As odd and far-fetched these ideas might be, I believe the slow and steady way is always the best, easy on the pocket book and easy on the work schedule.
