Default panel conversion

Does anybody know how much weight you would lose (or gain?) if you did a panel conversion to your PT?

depends on the kit i guess. But i can't see you LOOSING weight, if anything you'll gain weight. By replacing the glass with steel... I really want to make mine a coupe by welding the rear doors and shaving the handles...mmmmmm[?]

I thought the main weight drop would come from taking off two doors, those things are heavy.

Next week work starts on phase one: Panel the driver's side, suicide doors on the passenger's side w/ rear passenger door paneled also. Door handles and all badges and logos shaved. E&M horizontal billet grill, rear roll pan. 2" level drop... YeeHah!!

I have been jonesen to make mine into a sedan delivery, I believe pt teazer offers a fiberglass replacement for the doors and rear Q panels, very expensive. My main thought on that setup is the vehicle's structural support, will it crack in half?

I was just at the Daytona show and the yellow panel is now for sale. Just in case someone doesn't want to go through the trouble of doing their own panel. Cruise on.

As someone said, getting rid of the doos would definitely drop weight. Also glass is heavier than the thin sheet metal they use these days for car bodies. It is very thing guage stuff. It would be interesting to weigh a kit and compare to the stuff you take off.
