Has anyone seen or have pics of a PT with a 2-3" top chop?[}

I would have to drive with the sunroof open all the time if I took 2-3 inches off. These darn seats are too high.

You lower the seats too. While at it, suicide the rear doors and modify to a 4-door hardtop.

i've actually been wanting to do that since i got my first '01 touring edition, and now the GT. I wanted to do a 3" chop; you have to remove the seat risers from under the rails in the front, and pie cut the pillars, and reshape the glass. It's a lot of work and is extremely expensive since you also need a custom fabricated roll bar due the loss of integrity in the roof. There's one glaring problem: the back seats. Since they are not on risers, no one would be able to fit in the back other than small children....ah well, i still want to do it[8D]

If you wanted to do that, why buy a cruiser?

I was doing a mental styling exercise using various aftermarket front ends. Some were good, some were not true to the PT's basic form, and one was true to the form but was so agressive it would require a 500+ hp engine and a chopped top. I don't like to critize someone who's gone to the effort to do it, but the one in the pic is "off" and the car should look better. When it was cut, the rake between the roof and beltline was removed. The raked stance is part of PT's distinctive character.
Why buy a new PT just to do this? The same reason some PTs have suicide doors, shaved handles, two piece hatches,... |

Hey guys, don't get too excited. The purple chop-top PT above is only a photoshop exercise...it's not a real cruiser. Notice the wheels...there a bit big and would never be able to turn or have any movement at all if it was real.
