to give the front grill a different affect I was thinking of painting the vertical supports in the upper and lower grills flat black to give the affect of just horizontial bars....what are your opinions

Been there, done that. www.StreamlineDesign.com has a kit with pre-cut black tape to mask the vertical bars. It really only looks good when the sun is high in the sky helping to darken the vertical bars.

Had thought of it myself, appears it's worth the little effert to actually get some generic flat black tape on a nice day and do a little work. Would be something cheap and not stressfull or hard to pull off. Would tie me over till I get a stainless one.
