Default Flame Recommendations?

I'm thinking of adding some flames to my Electic Blue 2003 Turbo. I've been looking around but having problems making up my mind. [:I] I know I don't want anything radical, I'd like something that blends in, either blue in colour or a ghost style that lets the car colour through.

I've talked to my local trim shop, he's bring in a few in to try and sell me, but his books and his styles are limited, he advised me, if I find one I like bring in a pic and either he'll get it or make it.[]

Anyone out there have any recommendations? They would be appreciated, any pics or web site listing would also be great.

Thanx.

The window decals on my GT were purchased from the two companies listed below. They also make flames. From what I have read on forums other people who have purchased decals from them have been pleased with their products.

The decals are of excellent quality IMO, however, only time will tell how they will hold up in the long-term. If you keep your car in a garage or under a carport decal flames will last longer before you may experience problems. I believe proper installation is the key to success. Of course, if you want to spend the money--1.5 to 3.5K--depending on the size) you might want to consider hand-painted flames if you have a shop near you that does this; it is my understanding that, for the long-term, these will hold up better than decals and can be waxed/polished. Just my two cents.

Good luck.

I spent around 700 for my hand painted stripes, and these are great. The only downside is you cant get your car machine washed for about 90 days. I would rather hand wash and wax my car anyway. Better for the paint and cheaper.

As for flames on a blue PT, I think just a lighter shade of your color in ghost flames would look very nice.

Give www.Decalzone.com a try, Had them on my 02 cruiser and they where great. If you have never put decals on before I would have a paint shop do it. Also I've looked at www.hotrodworks.net/decal/ptcruz.html#

your best bet is to find a place that does custom air brushing and bring in an example of the type of flame you're looking for and have them draw up a draft pattern to see if you like it first...but keep in mind good jobs aren't cheap

[ I agree That Painted flames are the best way to go, I notice this link http://www.flameit.com has masking kits also, that you can place on your car and paint the flames, giving you the pro look and your color choice...also looks like they offer alot of cool other stuff for the PT..cool stuff for a hotrod shop..

flame on..

Autotrim Express Has airbrushed flames on vinyl that look great on the PT. I had them do a custom flame for my black GT in charcoal fading to black metallic, kind of like a ghost flame. You can go to their site http://www.autotrimexpress.com/catalogworkshops.htm and click on the link for cars/pt cruiser/firestorm xl, this is the kit I used. I had the installer move it forward from where they show it so it comes out of the headlights. If you look at the link where it says "see more colors", it will show you all of their catalog kits. If nothing suits you there they can custom paint. Your imagination is your limit
