I think they photograph the rear

Special camera and computer technology combine to photograph the back of your vehicle as you drive by, and record your speed at that exact second.

They photograph both the front and the rear at an intersection. Front to get a picture of the driver and plate and the rear picture usually captures a picture of the running the red and/or speeding violation along with your plate. If it's a speed trap, most just take a front picture, although more cities are starting to add a rear camera. Small towns/cities are notorious for photo traps, not to mention 25 mph speed limits on major streets to generate more income (like Pasadena). Placing the front plate on the dash has been an alternative for many. Or you can add 2 of these:

Well, STILL driving with no front plate...but looking over my shoulders constantly for the city PD. We thought putting the plate up on the front dash while out driving would be okay too, but not according to Officer Rosetti (I think he'd be better suited for Preparation H commercials...he's a bit on the anal side). I think there might be a way to customize a T bracket coming from the underside of the front bumper. Just need to get to a local hardware store and buy the metal. I'll let ya'll know how it pans out.

When I ordered my Turbo, I told both the salesman and the manager to make sure of two things: 1) Do not mount the front license plate holder, and 2) Do not put the dealer's badge on the back of the car. Can you guess what happened? I refused to accept delivery of the car, and after much "negotiation,” the dealer agreed to replace the front fascia and guarantee the paint job on it for life. The PT looks too cool to mess it up with a plate...

TNT-PT

The last few cars I bought I always MAKE them put in the contract just that "NO LICENCE PLATE HOLDER OR HOLES ALLOWED IN FRONT BUMBER, IF HOLES ARE PUT IN FRONT BUMBER CONTRACT IS VOID". They look at me like I am nuts and actually ask "Are you serious?". I just reply "Do you want to sell me a car!". I also tell them about the dealers "badge". I tell them that they can put it on but at a monthly fee of $100.00 for advertisement. That is reasonable.
Your dealer did you right.

Spicy, that is what I did with my plate (see pic on page 1 of thread) Just don't hang it in front of the intercooler.

Looking for picture of license plate bracket made by Cal Cruzin. I could not find pictures on PT Forum site. If anyone has a copy of the pictures, I would appreciate it if you would e-mail them to me directly.
Thanks,
CruzinTTown

Wondering how the rest of you GT owners mounted your front plates (if you even have)? Hoping to get some other ideas for placement.

Thanks guys and gals!
My 2007 came with the front plate bracket and tiny indentations on the front bumper to show where to place the plate. It also came with 6 deep-thread screws to mount it.

I just tapped out the holes a bit with my dremel and the bracket screwed right on. The dremel heated up the bumper material enough so that when I put the screws in, that when the plastic cooled, it griped the screws that much better.

Perfect fit for that Chicago Cubs plate, I might add.

You can see my avatar on ptcrew.com. It has a pic of the front of my car.
