Default mopar subwoofer

I used to be a huge audiophile, but my tastes have calmed quite a bit. Now I just want a full range of sound.

Do you guys know the partnumber for a GT OEM Subwoofer?
Does it still fit in the same way as the 01' ??
How much?

Thanks
-[?]Shane

I believe that it is different than the '01. They are not interchangable with the '03. That is all I know.

I don't think it is available yet. The wiring changed between the 01 and 02 models, causing 2 different part numbers in as many years. In 03, the interior panel color changed, but the wiring remained the same as the 02 model (at least at the radio end)and this introduced a 3rd part number in as many years. You may be able to get an 02 model and repaint it in the 03 factory color, but I would check with the service department to be sure that the wiring hasn't changed for using the 02 model with the radio you have in your 03.

It still may be a little while before it hits the market as an OEM Part option from Chrysler.

If you check out PTYDIY site you should be able to obtain the wiring info .

The correct P/N for the 2002+ cruisers ends in 7516. The wiring is correct for that part on a GT, but the color is wrong. Also, I beleive they are on an extremely long back order.

Anyone got any idea if Chrysler will make the Subwoofer for the 03 GTO Turbo ? They are missing a Big Sales opportunity.

Also, does the Subwoofer install prevent you from installing the
satellite Radio ?

I saw the install instructions for the Sirrus readio and it said something aboutnthe reas left panel.

JL Audio makes a subwoofer that mounts in the same location. You'll need a separate amp for this one though: http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/ptcruiser.html

I know JL is better, but DAMN it's expensive!!!

So, I'm still gonna look for the Mopar sub.

I was just messing around on the Chrysler accessories site and noticed that they re-added the subwoofer to the audio portion. I had specified that my cruiser was a Turbo, so hopefully this new part number works as far as interior color goes! It's a part number I'd not seen before: 82208162[^]

After further investigating on the accessories site it seems that you get the same part number for each verson of the Cruiser. It says it mounts behind the trim panel. Perhaps it's a new version that requires modifying the original trim panel to accept the subwoofer. It is a new part number for sure.

2001 PT sub: 82205894
2002+ PT sub: 82207516
NEW PT sub: 82208162
