Correct--this is what I did. No taping at all--just careful application with a brush (3-4 coats) of the stock color Inferno Red.

Yes, there were some heat issues which were easily corrected--SEE earlier post with picture on this thread showing the problem areas. I have put over 1000 miles on the car since the "face-lift" driving in temperatures over 90 degrees and have not had any further heat-related problems.

Easy low-cost ($35) modification. [8D]

Good decision--you will not believe what a difference adding that "missing" second high-note horn ($33 part) makes to increase loudness. The omission by DC of this I feel borders on a safety issue as the stock horn on the 2003 PTC models (single low-note) cannot be heard under normal driving conditions.
