"Convoluted tubing assortment" (red--#038002) made by TAYLOR CABLE PRODUCTS--they come in various colors--total of 40ft/10 feet each of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4". However, there is a PROBLEM... ... Since installing the "looms" on the engine wiring, etc., I have driven my car only once, yesterday when the temperatures outside were over 80 degrees. Last evening I noticed that in a few places on about 4 looms (located on wires near the rear of the engine) the plastic had melted which permanently adhered the loom to the original wiring. What would be the best thing to do under these circumstances? [:I] Should I leave them just as they are? Should I attempt to remove as much of the melted red loom as is possible without damaging the wire? Or, should I use electrical tape (is there something else which would be better?) to wrap around the melted parts of the loom so as to help prevent engine heat from causing any further melting? THANKS.

Caused by heat from the turbo. I would take the stuff off, carefully in areas that are melted, and re-install it only at shows, cruise-ins, etc. I know it can't take more than a few minutes to put it on. You don't want a fire from some $2 piece of loom.

Gary mine doesn't look pretty as yours ,cuz I'm recycling stuff from the old cruisers we had. But the hoses are silicon from hose techniques and we've had days in upper 90's with no evidence of the melting issues you have . Here's a pic:

I did similar customization. Used chrome wire loom, which has not shown any sign of melting or breakdown (yet). I painted all the stock yellow caps orange with red lettering, which looks real nice. Been outta town for a week and I'm having turbo withdrawal...time to get in my SPICY PT and driiiiiiiiiiiive!
