Default "B" Pillars

Has anyone come up with a solution for the discoloration
on their B pillars? It's really becoming a pain to clean them
everytime I was the car. I use an automatic high sray nozzle
type car wash. The turtle wax that is used I think is leaving the discoloration. Is there anything that can be applied to the pillars to seal them to eliminate the problem?

The TSB on this says to try a solution of distilled vinegar and water (50/50 I think), and if that doesn't work, for the dealer to replace under warranty. It's caused by hard water leaving deposits and then the spots drying.Best way to avoid this would be to dry the car when you wash it and don't let the water sit on the car to dry.

I put the chrome covers on my B-pillars, so I shouldn't have this problem. I'm surprised that these would be covered under warranty since the discoloration is most likely caused by outside agents (not the fault of DC). If they cracked or had some other material defect, I could see them covered by warranty. If you do get these covered under warranty, let us know...that's pretty interesting.

I think the lines of the PT look way better not painted. That's just my personal opinion. I like the PTs better when the dark lines of the windows are kept (even looks better if the front windows are tinted).

Buuuuut, anyway, I used Megiars polish on mine (on my old 01), and the "crap" came right off. I don't have discoloration yet on my new GT.

Sfhickey glad you like them the stock way....I don't and haven't so, finally took the plunge and got them painted . Even so I have no problem that we disagree ,I was just offering another option that worked for me! Actually since you have a black cruiser I tend to agree that painting wouldn't be the right option. In my case after 3 years and 2 other cruiser's I really wanted them, the mirrors, and my interior consoles painted .

flashbk2, yours look nice though. I don't hate on people. To each their own! I don't think you can make this car look bad. (especially if it's a turbo)

Mine were professionally done....by a dealership . I painted my own mirrors/consoles on my '01 cruiser they came out ok but never had the gloss that my turbo mirrors /,etc have .
