I do kinda find it unfair to judge one company for a product that alot more companies have tried to copy. Especially since the PT Cruiser is not alone when it comes to rollpans being made for vehicles.
Certainly you don't have to buy a rollpan to be different as there are plenty of stock fitting options. So to judge a single product is ridiculous when that is one of a few options given to you. As a consumer its your job to research and evaluate anything you purchase.

My $.02. I work for the Sheriff's Office here in Florida 3 days a week. One of my main calls (when nobody is severely injured) is road and parking lot crashes. The full Deputies or Highway Patrol take the severe ones. I carry a small digital camera along with me to take pictures of damage because I also give out citations to who's ever at fault in the crash and some of take it (me) to court to fight the citation.
Now "motorvating" wants to put things in perspective but he doesn't see all that's going on. Even with my 3 days out of 7 days a week on the job, I run out of the 20 digital pictures before my 3 days are up. Maybe it's because there are so many older drivers here in Florida, I can't say but I do know there's probably half a dozen crash calls a day and the vast majority of them, somebody got hit in the rear.

Thanks to all the folks that commented on my Pteazer roll pan.first lets address the safety I do take offence to the absolute hammering I got from some one but I realise there are allways going to be some none fans out there. obviously the reinforcement on the rear cant do anything to protect the rear hatch in an accident as it fits flush with the hatch. So you will get damage to the hatch, this may be of concern if you have a fancy murial painted on the rear or something.but normally if you get hit from behind the other guys insurance has to put the car back to pre collision condition includeing the paint .Ok the reinforcement bar on the Pteazer reinforcement cant protect the taigate but it does tie the two rails together which does help some, however if someone can think of a better way im open to listening.as fare as I know mine are the only ones that come with any reinforcement of any kind?Next the price ,yes its not cheep,I am trying to keep my parts manufactureing done in USA which is allmost impossible to do anymore. It costs allmost ten times more to make stuff here insted of China.Am I the last blanking person left that cares about trying to keep American Qaulity? and jobs. I hope not because I actually think its chicken sh t to send all our manufactureing away to save a buck. For the one guy that mentioned the safty concernes I have had more than 37 years of collision experiance includeing the last nine on Pt cruisers exclusivly.I have seen hundreds of crashed cruisers through my shop and every single insurance adjuster has been impressed by the way my parts held up . I allso have been a seriuos racer for many many years and have the utmost concern for safty.in another posting I will cover my fronts and how when Chevy wanted a reinforcement for the SSR they did acactly the same as my smoothie front reinfocement only they stacked two on top of each other but went with a much smaller diamiter tube as the Pteazer one was over kill. Im sure they did all the expensive crash testing and decided to go with it so thats a pretty good indorsement where I come from.Bye the way there is a economic stimulas sale and if anyone wants to contact me I will give you my new prices 714 448 8630 Ray Newton Pteazer.

When you get rear ended at anything over 10mph it doesn't matter rollpan or not its going to mess up the rear frame and get into the floor pan of the car. Lets get down to reality, you want to scare people fine, but how about telling them the stocker isn't worth a hill of beans either in a real world crash. Or when you get hit by an SUV it is going to go OVER the rear bumper anyways and hit the hatch and enter the trunk so the rear bumper don't matter there either, and I have the pics of my accidents to prove that. You don't need scare people.. <off soapbox>

Thanks heaps Cuda, I guess you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. Some times I Probably take this all a bit to personal aye. But after seeing this whole pt crazyness start with the hot rod power tour in 2000 , and getting Chryslers design exellence award in 2001, and having the origonal pattent for the rollpan design that by rights I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED ALL OF THESE IMPOSTERS THAT HAVE KNOCKED OFF MY DESIGNS since day one. Ask the compertition how many UK manufacturer of the year awards they have received? and how many UK best of shows there customers have won. Sorry man I guess Im still a little wond up. I should stop while Im ahead, thanks again Ray Pteazer.
