Does anyone know of any companies that might make a rear bumper OEM style with dual cut outs for the borla exhaust system ? I was at a flea market the other day and parked next to a pt cruiser with an OEM looking bumper with two exhaust cutouts for the tips, but I left before he did, and I didnt get to talk to the guy.

You cut it out yourself. Some of the dual exhaust kits have a template that you tape onto the rear fascia and cut along the dotted lines.
The only rear panels I've seen with the dual cutouts already on them are the bumper covers from Xenon and some of the rear roll pans. I bought my dual exhaust used from someone and when the exhaust shop put on the duals temporarily, I could see exactly where the cut was needed before they put it on for good. I drew a line freehand with magic marker and the shop used a small cutter to follow my line. We then smoothed it as best we could at the shop and I used a dremmel tool to finish the smoothing when I got home.

Easy to do it yourself on the rear fascia.

Well, I was thinking you could do that, but, at the same time, on mine, the plastic over the stock tip is like not just a forward cut out, it also has some panels that go back, so like if u look at it from an angle, u can see the plastic side walls over the tip of the exhausts. Did you guys just cut that off too ?
Also Crewzin, on a side note, when you installed those euro diamond clear reverse lenses, did they improve the vision at all when backing up ? ~CYCLONE_06 Last edited by CYCLONE_06; 12 Sep 2008 at 05:57 pm. |

Not exactly sure what your talking about but once you make the initial cut and fit the exhaust tip, you can't really see much of anything except the exhaust tip. Don't make the cut out too large, just enough to fit the tip and sort of on the same design as the original single outlet.
If there is anything like what you say "plastic side walls" they shouldn't be seen once the exhaust tip is in there. The TYC Euro back-up lenses were put in to be different not for more light. I do think they do give off more light but can't say for sure.
