What do you mean by white? Found this pic and it looks
like they dont have that yellow refector.
I think i saw a post once that it was pryed loose with
a screwdriver, then broken apart with a needlenose pliers.
So the peices can get out of the light socket hole.
I'd like to get rid of them also, any one have any info on this?
And am i glad we dont have those huge plates over here.
Nick

removing the yellow turn signal plastic...is that legal?
I know in the rear light cluster you can do some of that...

as long as you still retain the yellow bulb it is legal. Honda owners have been doing this sort of stuff for years now. they sell a bulb that is chrome when not on, but yellow when turned on.....might look into something like that.

if the cop wants to be a prick they can nail you for removing the amber piece. Reason being is that it is a reflector. You must be able to see the car parked at night. Thats why we have those reflectors on our rear bumpers, next to the reverse lights. That is the reason why those first generation totally clear rear tail lights that all the hondas had were illegal; not because they were clear, but because they had no reflectors.

i wasn't talking about aftermarket lenses and not even tail lights at all...this topic is about the reflector in the headlight!

you are right....it is there to be seen at night......my suggestion then would be not to park your car on the road or buy some cheap reflective tape and stick a little piece on the side some where.

like i said import owners have been doing this(homemade mod) for years.

oh, and those taillights were not illegal because of reflector problems....APC never got DOT approval even though they had DOT stamped on them. probably never got approval because of this fact, but that's not the reason they have been recalled.

Back to the topic buddies, do you know the part number???

I could care less if they are legal or not in the US I live in Mexico and we have more european cars on the road than americans, they are legal here and even if they weren't I want them.

Damn, I now know why you american friend sometimes think so bad about us.

MexicanPT... You should care, there is always a reason why those yellow reflectors are there. You don't live in Europe where culture of people is very diffent from ours.

Take this from another proud mex citizen
