1. Set EM brake be sure engine is off.
2. remove the allen (set screw) all the way is the best. 3. set shifter in the middle maybe, drive. 4. use your hand like a slide hammer and knock the ball off, 5. hit the damn thing, after 3 or 4 times you should be able to grab the ball assy. and pull up and it will be off . good luck. for the car not the money |

Just an addition to your instructions... that should be a 3mm Allen wrench.
