Default OEM chrome grille

Hello everyone. I need a little help please. About a month ago I purchased an 03 Turbo for the wife. We had the dealer install some options including the OEM chrome grille. I have no issues with the upper but the lower doesn't look right. He did cut out the old one but he used double sided tape to just stick it on the outside of the bumper. It also only has four openings across the bottom where the regular GT grille has six. Is this right. The dealer insists that it is. Anyone have the install instructions, pictures, etc? Thanks.

David,

I was at a show yesterday where one of the members bought the new chrome enhanced grill from Chrysler. The top part fit right in but the bottom unit was supposed to be attached by four screws/bolts after you cut the old section out. If you cut too much, your S..t out of luck. Anyway, he said there was no way to attach the bottom part with the four screws without taking half the front end off so he used an epoxy glue. Here's the pic and I know it's hard to see but it looks like there's 6 slots in the bottom row.

Well here's the story I got from my dealer and the one that is linked to on this site. there is no OEM Chrome Grille available for the '03 GT. Evidently the one they put on my PT is for the NA Cruisers. The top fits fine because they are the same but the lower is now samller because of the difference between the GT and the NA. I don't think the size difference is significant enough to cause problems. This was done as part of a new car purchase, is completely under warranty so I am not too worried about it.

What do you guys think. Is it enough airflow?

I have the OEM for the upper grille, Chrysler told me they didn't have one for the lower part on a Turbo, so I got the strips from PTWoody. No cutting or changing the lower grille. It's not exactly matching, but anyway, it's hard to notice since the lower grille is harder to see unless you crouch down to check it out.

I don't know about 6 openings, seems like there are only 4 on mine, and its a turbo.

As a sort of mini follow up to the heat issue . . . We took the car on a short road trip to my in-laws. 220 miles, about 170 of it hwy., cruise was set at 78-80 most of the way, outside temp was between 70-80. The temp gauge needle stayed just below the center mark and never moved the entire trip.

David, do a search on these forums for "temp gauge", you will find some have replaced the gauge with aftermarket as the factory gauge is actually little more than an "idiot light", it will not give a reading above the center until it's too late.

Check it out.

Thanks. I'll check out the threads about the temp. gauge. I knew it was a "dummy" but most of them move when the temp changes. This one apparently doesn't.
