Default paint problem

i have an 03 gt. I installed a Crusher front end painted to match my black factory paint. I also have it lowerd 2in. The problem is, is that with the front so low to the ground, the paint job on the lower part of the crusher kit is taking a beating this winter. Its actualy comming off in chips. Is this a faulty paint job? if not is there anything i can do to prevent further chipping? Also what will have to be done to repair this.?

Lowered it 2"? And driving in the SNOW!! And living in CANADA!!! You'll have to park it during the winter and get a "beater" to drive like many of the Cruisers do.

The chipping problem possibly is caused by the ice crystals in the snow, you could take it back to the painter for thier input.

I was "going" to ask that very question. How many
on these forums use their PTs as "Daily Drivers?"
We use our PT only in nice weather and weekends.
Daily Driver is a 1997 Dodge Intrepid. H.

I too have crusher front end but not lowered....mine also is scrapping along underside . I'm not driving mine much now....driving my '97 neon beater. I don't think it's bad paint, even the best paint job isn't going to take contact with the pavement !

Mine is definitely the only car, and therefor, the daily driver. This has shown on the grill where there is a chip or two on the white paint due to rocks. The very lower part of by front (The peice perpendicular to the ground) end is a little bit ground down due to 'getting some air' a couple of weeks ago.

ptgt1, I'm not familiar with that frt. end. Does the area that you are speaking of normally show, or is it underneath a rolled edge?
Also is it the ice and snow doing it?
If the area thats getting chipped isn't directly visable, wait till
spring and have the area repainted, but use a product called "Rock Guard" on it before spraying the color coat. The stuff is pretty durable as far as stone chips, it may help with your problem also.

Well, there is this one intersection in Dover (coming off Rt. 1, and onto Scarborough rd). The road bisecting mine, was elevated in the center and sloped on the sides to drain rainwater properly. The light was stale green and about to turn yellow, so I punched it... I hit this going around 75-80. Only got a couple of feet in the air (just enough to scare the crap out of me)then hit the other side grinding down the bottom peice of my bumper (Very minor, cant even see it unless you are on your back). It was fun, I wouldn't do it again though.
