Rear Speakers

I am trying to replace the rear speakers in my car and I am not certain on the correct size. I would like to put 5 1/4" components in but I am am not certain if they will fit. Will they fit or do I need to go with a 5 X 7 or 6 X 8 speaker.

Metra, MB Quart, and others sell 5x7 (6x8) adapter plates that allow a 5 1/4" component set to be used in a 5x7 hole. Just check the mounting depth of the midrange driver before installing. I believe Crutchfield has the maximum depth listed in their catalog (should be online too...).

To allay all your fears, pull those rear quarter panels off and take a look at the speaker. You can measure it, also take it a look at whats going to be involved with replacing it. BTW, the panel comes off real easy just pull gently at the top. I replaced all my speakers with JL components. I also like the JBL GTI line, they have a real smooth sound.

Thanks for the help. I am going to get an adapter from MJM Auto Innnovations and put the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Components in the front and rear.
