If someone was to replace their GT (airbag equipt) seat for srt-4 viper seats or any other seat, would it detect an airbag fault and trigger the dash light?

Are there any wires leading to the seats that could sense this?
My guess is yes, as doing anything to the PT except adding flame decals and fuzzy dice will trip a light ![]()

Yes.
Refer to the body diagnostic manual for all the details. |

My car has the passenger seat with airbag removed (wheelchair conversion) but no airbag light. So there's some way to keep the light off, I dont know what they did to my car to fix it though.

There are airbag simulators to keep the light off. They are designed for diagnostics, but I use one to remove the passenger seat for drag racing.

Every time you turn the car on the system always tests the airbag circuits to make sure they're all hunky-dorey.If it detects a fault, such as a broken circuit (a missing bag and/or unhooked connector would do this) it would make the airbag light stay on, or possibly the MIL.I am guessing the mod you have for the wheelchair conversion is some sort of SIM like some guys use to fool the PCM into thinking that the O2 sensor is in place when it's really been removed.Of course we can't do that because I think someone said our O2 is heated, but the way those guys do it is by using a resistor to send back the correct voltage to the PCM to make it think everything is working fine.
