I bought mine through Wyckoff's web page. You can link
through the we page here. Approx. $130.00, but good for
peace of mind. And easy to install - took me approx.
30 minutes.

I tried following the link posted earlier in the thread for Blanes/Blaines for the hood lifts. Doesn't direct me to the correct site anymore. Anyone have an up to date link. Just got our PT yesterday and I think this is the first change I'd like to make.

Quikcar,

Do you realize the thread your responding to is 5 years old?

Blane doesn't seem to be around anymore.

Maggie at Race and Street has some hood struts and there's a 10% discount going on right now for on-line orders. Here's a link.....

PT Cruiser Hood Struts Kit Black Premium: Race and Street

If you don't like the black ones, they can always be painted or if you use the chrome tape nobody can tell the difference that they aren't really chrome. Mine were black before I put the chrome tape on them...

Yup, I realized it was old and doubtful that I would find any help. But looks as though I lucked out. I like the look of the referral supplied. Thanx very much.

Tell you what NOT to do - I sent Ucantcme money via PayPal before Thanksgiving for 2 hood strut kits for my daughter's and son-in-law's PT's and now get no response to emails!

Wow, thanx for the advice Don. I'm far from an expert on this, but isn't there something that you can do via Paypal to have this transaction reversed? Wishing you the best.

Don,

Ucantcme (Ron) has been absent from this forum for a bit but he was a good forum member and was even made a moderator. Not sure what happened to him, hope nothing bad but it's hard to believe he would be a member for so long and then just skip out because he received some money from you. I can't do nothing except the same as you as far as emails to him. The owner of the forum hasn't been around either since last September. I think he'd be able to get some more information from Ron like his address, but as I said, I can't get in touch with him either.

Yeah, I hate to think the worst, and held off posting about it. I wanted them for Christmas presents...

my rear hatch was not staying up anymore when opened. I even got hit on the head a few times while loading/unloading stuff!!!

I found a source for replacement struts, these are probably the best designed and built struts available anywhere. Plus, since I had modifications done to my rear hatch, with added sound deadening material and a flipdown video, these struts were custom pressurized to account for the added weight.

I had the same problem with the hood struts, and now they are solid. Plus they look good with the polished finish.

To get the best struts available for your PT, or for any other car, get a hold of Steve Fenner, a really nice guy with a 1st class product. He is at Lift Support Technologies , info@lstechnologies.ca, Lift Support Technologies Gas Springs - Custom to Spring Lift and tell him Natasha sent you!

I'm having trouble posting pics but I can send some via email if anyone is interested just pm me.
