Default Transparent FLAMES window tint

The front side windows of my car were recently tinted Onyx Grey (by Madico/55%) with blue "hot flames" tint added to blend in with the lower-body side flames. Wasn't sure how I would like it but, it has a "subtle look", and gives my GT a special custom appearance which I like. [8D]

Like it from the outside.

Hate it from the inside.

I couldn't stand trying to look in my mirrors with thsoe 2 different colors in there all the time. Esp passenger and driver's rearview.

First of all, its yours. Now, I kinda agree with crazyjoe, the outside looks great[?] but from the inside[:I]. I'm a big fan of using mirrors and I think that would drive me nuts. But that's just me.

One of the guys in our PT club had the same transparent flames but in grey on his windows and he got a fix-it ticket because of them, so the window flames are no more.

As long as YOU like it and the law enforcement can handle it, GO FOR IT!

The clarity of these transparent window flames is 50 state legal according to the seller: http://www.fastlanegrafix.com/hotflameswndwtnt.html This was confirmed by a local window tinting professional installer who has been in the business for 20 years.

Yes, it takes some getting used to when looking at the passenger's side mirror but the driver's side is mostly clear as little of the flames are seen in it due to the fact it is closer to you. It took less than a day of driving for me to get used to seeing through "clear/blue" and then it was almost like normal. At night you really don't notice anything. For me at least--this is a NON-ISSUE--but, your mileage may vary. During the installation I thought of having the flames cut so no part of them would be seen in either side mirror but decided againt this as, IMHO, it would compromise the flame pattern by leaving a "hole" in the middle. One day when I decide to sell the car if the buyer doesn't like the blue transparent flames they can be easily removed.

You must understand - I live in the Republik of Fremont, Kalifornia. Whatever is legal in every other state and every other city, is questionable around here. Our law enforcement personnel around here have issue with ANYTHING that is not bone stock.

Driving around, waiting for a ticket,

I had these exct same window flames from Airbillster on my Cruiser and got a warning from a cop that I could get ticketed because "They obscured my mirrors".

I took his warning to heart and took them off, but quite honestly I didn't really like them too much anyway. They were very distracting from the inside (because they actually DO obscure the mirrors), at night they were extremely distracting as I was taught to constantly use all my mirrors to scan traffic around me. Also from a distance they looked good, but from close up (in my opinion) they looked kind of cheesy (!).

They very well may look cheesy if not installed properly by using another layer of window tinting to "seal them into the window". They are sold "as is" for $20 and it is implied that they should be installed directly onto the window--[u]no way</u>, IMHO. If installed in this manner they probably would look cheesy and not last more than six months before peelng around the edges (especially at the sharp flame points). [B)] Think the flame pattern should be redesigned to accomodate the side mirrors which would resolve the issue of these tinted flames being distracting for some people.

They work for me. [8D]

Just my two cents. [8]

These have been on my cruiser since Feb 03 as is and I've done several that have been on almost as long with no peeling and mine has passed Virginia state inspection. As the inspection guy told me, they don't obstruct the mirror any more than any other LEGAL tinted window would.[:I]

I understand some peoples opinions about the visibility, it can be distracting if you have vision problems but I do and got used to the color difference, no problem. I had these on my Cruiser for 8 months before I started selling them, for quality control.
I know these aren't for everybody but I made these for one simple reason,"it gives my GT a special custom appearance which I like." I got a lot of requests for these and will proudly stand behind anything I sell at Fastlanegrafix.com.
