I really like the factory chrome grill, but, I did not like the fact that it did not continue below the bumper as it did not look complete.
However, I noticed on the 04' GT with chrome package that they added a lower grill portion that also includes the chrome inserts. This piece appears as if it can be installed if you cut out the original molded grill piece? Has anyone else looked into this or know if you can modify the the 03' lower portion to install this piece? This would also be a good mod for those who have the original factory front chrome grill! I think the way they did the 04' front grill really looks sharp now and would like to add it. Subtle, but finishes off the front of the car and ties in the other bits of chrome. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks ![]() |

DC just came out with the chrome grille package for the Turbo, Dream Cruiser and GT's which includes the lower grille "insert". It's actually an overlay instead of an insert. I don't know if you can order just the lower piece itself or not; check with your local dealer. It can be ordered in Silver, Red, Black and unpainted. Installation time for bottom is 2 hours (I think) cause it's a real beeatch to put on over the original grille.

Dont bother to order one if you have the silver color. You cannot even see the chrome strip until you are right up to the car...I broke down and ordered the E & G Chrome grill for mine....

My '04 GT came with the chrome package that included the upper and lower chrome insert grilles I think you are talking about. The grilles have an inserted chrome strip on the horizontal bars. The lower grille is indeed a separate part that is screwed to the bumper cover. I just took my front bumper off to put a Crusher front end on this last weekend and took the lower grille off to check how the opening is done for you. You may be able to cut your lower grille out and then attach this style grille to the opening. I took a picture of my opeing without the grille if you'd like me to email it to you.
