Default Light up Skull on liftgate

I had a skull with LED eyes mounted on my hitch, but I'm too low for that now. I broke two of them. I really got a kick out of it though, so this was my solution: http://www.drag-u-la.net/PT/s3.JPG

If you lift up on the skull the handle works as before. It lights up with the rest of the tail lights, and glows brighter when braking.

I have greatly reduced the size of the jpg. I have yet to run into the data transfer limit. That should make it available.

Gee, I can see the pic just fine - so do you have to stick a finger in behind the skull to pull up on the latch? How did you modify the stock handle and wire it up? I'm not really into the whole skull thing, but I have to admit that's pretty cool. Nice work.

I drilled holes through the handle where the emblem is so I can cover it if I decide to remove it. There are screws through the back and into the hitch cover. The wires pass though a hole I drilled in the handle assembly into the hatch. I tapped into the 3rd brake light in the hatch.

To get the running lights I had to route a wire through the stock harness to get to the tailight wire in the drivers side quarter panel.

To open the hatch I just lift up on his chin!
