Happy Holidays All! I have had the pleasure to drive a Viper and really like the SRT-10. However, my PT GT is still my favorite and I am having much fun adding to it. I'd really like to put an engine start button in the space between the Trac Control button and the Defrost button. Has anyone done this? What button will work the best and what pitfalls can I expect. Thanks to anyone who can help! Musicman

Welcome to the mad house Musicman. I thought of adding the same thing in the past but never did. It will be interesting to hear the feedback. I have been looking at the Mercedes E320 and an option is the button. I think its really cool.

Have you seen what the new Corvette's have? Everything is in the key-fob. You never take the fob out of your pocket. You walk up to the door and it unlocks itself. Get in and the car recognizes you are there and you just push the start button. When you done just walk away from the car...the doors lock themselves.

A button like this?
![]() Good news, it is an old starter button. Bad news, it doesn't start the engine. It's the button for my ahooga horn, but it has the look of an old starter button.[|)]

I also have been toying with this idea. Don't know about the same location, but have thought about the button. The local autozone here stocks a starter button in one of the ricer sections. It come with 3 or 4 diferent colored buttons too. Are you thinking of still having the key in the igntion, and just not turning it, just turn it to ON and then having the button do the starting or just eliminating the key all together?

Greetings to all. After much research both here and elsewhere, I was able proceed. I started on my Hemi Quad Cab with an SRT-10 engine start button. The intall went quite well. Getting the button to fit was the hardest part. Next I tackled my GT Cruiser. I didn't think the SRT button would fit, but a suitable button was obtained at Radio Shack. The wiring is quite easy. All you have to do is tap into a 12 volt switched feed to one post on the button. Then run a patch from the other post on the button to the yellow wire coming out of the steering column bundle. You can use the key or the button. Thanks to all who helped with suggestions. Happy New Year. Musicman
