Default Tailgate Badge Question

Hey gang,
I have a little situation here. Somehow, I've managed to acquire a crack [xx(] in the Chrysler badge on my tailgate lift handle. Don't ask how, I just saw it the other day. Does anyone know if that insert is removeable or is it going to be a real pain to replace/fix it. Many thanks. [:I]

If you can simply buy just the emblem from a dealer it should be simple. The old one is in there with 3M double sided trim tape. It shouldn't be too hard to remove. Once you get it out, just stick the new one on.

I removed mine after I drilled a couple of holes through it (see my sig.), but you should be able to pry it out.

I tried to pry mine out without chipping the chrome around it. Nearly impossible!!

I ended up getting a heat gun and very carefully applying heat, pulling a bit then repeating until the sucker came off. It will bubble/be nasty looking so this method is not ideal for anyone wanting to keep their undamaged one pretty.

While youre at it, why dont you pickup one of these Trenz billet replaceables. Maybe even cheaper than Chrysler http://store.yahoo.com/streetbeatcus...1125d1-sy.html
I thought it cleaned up the rear end nicely.
