Reporting Private Messages.

Is there any way to report private messages? I got one trying to convert me to Buddhism. Not that I mind peoples lifestyles But it has nothing to do with my shiny new PT.

On the other forums I belong there is a report to moderator button so the mods can swing the ban stick uber fast.

If it comes from someone that is registered on the forum, I, or one of the other moderators (Ucantcme , thegoldpt) can put a ban on their username.

Also, we really just can't take your word for it as some forum members would have us ban anybody they don't like or didn't agree with their opinion. Almost 100% of the spammers and someone who would send PM's to members like your talking about are first time users with a posting count of 1 or 2. We;ll take a look at the posters background and if you could, highlight all or part of what they sent you so we can see the kind of message your talking about. PM one of us and we'll take it from there.

I got basically the same message about Buddaism a month or two ago, but with a totally different user name; Crewzin got rid of 'em, in his usual excellent manner --- thanks Crewzin!

Best thing is to just ignor, NOT reply to, any messages like that; then send a report to the moderators, that's what they're there for.

I understand spam trying to sell me something (usually loosely related to the board im on) but repeated spam trying to convert peoples religion is strange on a car forum. BUt as I said before to each his own. And thank you CREWZIN for the super fast action and constant presence.

Shucks, spamming jerks are just that, spamming jerks: THEY don't care what a forum is about! Heck, think of all the spam emails you've seen --- do you even REMOTELY believe in all the cheap online drugstores or alledged lottery winnings from lotteries you never entered or the widows of deceased Nigerian government officials who wanna share their wealth with you?!?

After all, keep looking at this forum, and you'll see 'em posting messages about sneakers or cheap cameras for sale: it's just another almost-free way for them to hopefully snare people!
