Default Replacement Stereo for 2000 PT

Can anyone tell me what aftermarket stereo units can I fit to my 2000 PT Limited?

I can't find much info relating to the 2000 model and the units I can find are for 2001 and above so not sure if these will fit

First, there are no regular production 2000 model PT Cruisers. A "2000 PT" normally refers to the first batch of 2001 PT Cruiser manufactured in 2000. With some extremely small differences on some individual cars, almost all 2001 models can follow the same fitment catalogs for replacement parts and accessories.

The 2001 PT has different plugs for the stereo head than all newer models. It uses the old two-plug setup for the stereo head and has a conventional style antenna plug just like aftermarket stereos use. In 2002, it was changed to a single rectangular stereo plug and a plastic-style antenna plug that snaps into place.

All this said, the 2001 PT Cruiser will accept any oval faced factory Mopar stereo head from any Daimler Chrysler vehicle that has one. But for stereos 2002 and newer, it will need stereo and antenna adapter plugs.

Here's the adapters for the 2001 stereo and antenna plugs:

For an aftermarket single DIN stereo, you just need a kit like this. No antenna adapter is required:

For a double DIN stereo, you will need a custom bezel and you will have to make some modifications in the dash itself:

Thanks Handy_Cruiser, much appreciated.

I'd figured that was the case with the 2000-2001 but wasn't entirely sure.
