Default A nice place to hang

I originally came to this site after picking up a 2006 PT for my son as a replacement car.
In the rush to get things "right" on the used PT I was doing "Discovery and Repair as you go".
Just reading the information available with the search function can explain so many things.

Anyway, the reason for this post is to compliment the members for running a "CLASS" place.

Today, while visiting a forum for a make that shall remain nameless -
I was appalled at the behavior in some of the responses.
It is a shame that resources such as these automotive forums are subjected to the "lowest common denominator" at times.

My thanks to the moderator here, as well as the "major players" who keep this site a pleasure to view.

JK

Of all the forums I belong to vehicle related this forum has been for me one of the best all around places to belong to and actively and regularly participate in. I am not sure but it seems that owning either past or present a PT Cruiser and being a member on this forum is more like being in a local car club. You dont find that in many other car forums.

This is a small group of mostly men over fifty. Most know how to act and we police the others best we can. CREWZIN, our moderator, is a great guy and has the patience of Job. After a while, some of that rubs off on the other members as well.

What's unique right now is that the PT's are very inexpensive and there's a constant supply of used and discounted aftermarket parts too. This means that you don't have to spend a lot of money to do a major PT project. On many other forums, what league you are in depends on how much you are willing to spend on your car. But here on this forum, we might spend days talking about something that only costs a few bucks. And many times you will see members using parts that once cost over a thousand dollars but they recently got for just a few bucks. And because of this, everybody is equal.

Thumbs up Re: A nice place to hang

I agree and think it is very easy to run a forum like this forum.
Friendly and relaxed.

It's such a pity that many other forums are not pleasant to hang out with strict rules and harsh enforcers who even use a "read the rulez dumb%&$" smilie.

It's not hard to be friendly and create an atmosphere like we have here.

Kudo's to our admin and moderators from a fellow admin who's active elsewhere on the "innenet".

To take from the opening scene of a great movie:

THE THREE MOST POWERFUL MEN IN THE WORLD:

THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN REPUBLIC

AND

THE CAPTAIN OF A U.S. NUCLEAR SUBMARINE

But there is a fourth:

THE FORUM MODERATOR

Thanks for all you do to keep the forum running smoothly
