I'm still 50/50 on this.
My PTs got 70000mile on it and I'm not so sure if adding a charger at this milage would do some real damage to the engine, driveshaft etc....Do u think it would be worth it? O also I'm very worrt about overheating as well |

Ctown,
Just a word of caution. Don't put speed parts on an old engine. Go ahead-Ask me how I know. H. |

I'm assuming this is the same Cruiser that you had so many problems with, and was trying to sell not too long ago...... [:I]

My opinion - no. Doing that would lead to a very exciting, but brief remaining life for your PT.
Look into putting the money to a new PT - Turbo lites aren't as expensive as GTs. Clean yours up for trade - there are some deals out there - may a good used GT?

Just looking at these numbers there is no reason to dump cash into that car to make it faster. SO you have a car payment. Yes, but when yo ubolt a 'charger to a old engine you will have about a $5000 rebuild on your hands. That is about 2 years in car payments. That si if NOTHING else goes wrong( fuel pump, transmission, ect..) |

If you can't swing for a new GT, then I'd say save up and go for the hahn. Better bang for your buck, and there have been a lot less problems with them vesus the whipple.

Anyway heres the story I can get the a use whipple kit for $1000 and I got just install a new clutch for the car so I'm not worry I'm just worry about the wear and tear of the engine |

Well, assuming your PT has a few miles on it. If you boost
it with some sort of forced induction(turbo-supercharger-nitrous) you have tired parts that you are expecting to hold the extra ponies. You could(can) overheat a marginal engine, blow head gaskets-beat the wee-wee out of your transmission. Either manual(clutch) or auto (clutch packs). I'd just hate to hear another{ I've got a junk PT Cruiser story-when the truth is, you have a tired out PT Cruiser}. H. |

but it's just a whipple is it really that bad?
