Default Tail Gate Displays?

I've been a Cruiser owner for close to 3 years now and although my cruiser has been modified to some extent I never got the jist of tailgate displays?

Do you mean you have never seen one... Or you just don't understand the concept???

Hi Kevin,
Since tha PT Cruiser has such a cavernous interior, some people early on got the idea to decorete it for shows. The idea caugh on and has continued. Yes, it is somewhat unique to PT Cruisers, but so are a lot of other things. If people have fun, I certainly am not going to complain about it. In fact, I now have my tailgate area set up with a crate so that one of my Basset hounds can ride safely back there.

More power to those who are doing them. Displays have been a part of the car show culture for years. I've just been the type who would rather admire the custom aspects and the mechanical mods.

Every show I attend (and that's quite alot) 1/3 to 1/2 of all the PTs in the show have something to show in their tailgate. It's become an international thing to show the inside of the cruiser and add a little eye candy to the interior and the tailgate makes a perfect place to set up some sort of display. The crowds of people at all the show walk around the car and I very seldom here any negative comments, in fact most stop to look at whatever the owner has put on display.

Here's our Tailgate Display "CRUISERVILLE".It's won a number of trophies for us.

Keep in mind, that it is a matter of personal preference to do a display. Unless it is a competition that is judging tailgate displays, usually they have no bearing on other judged shows.

Kevin,
My tailgate dispaly is my custom sound system and my 20 inch flat screen tv. I have won several awards for it and have been surprised, but I guess it does qualify as a rear taligate display.

Yeah I agree that's a display. I guess a display is a display wheter it be a sub enclusure or whatever the owner decides to do. Everyone keep on being creative
