Default Cabin air filter change, tips anyone?

Hi all,
I'm am new to this site and new to my Cruiser. I have had it since Jan. and have started get things for it off ebay.
Has anyone changed the cabin air filter that could tell me how the cover comes off the compartment that holds the filter?
The screws turn the whole plastic fitting they are in, and I don't want to break them. Do they just push out or am I missing something?

Thanks, Yellow5

The screws are sort of a screw/push pin. Try turning them counter-clockwise with a small screwdriver WITHOUT putting much downward pressure on them. When the screw head is a little above the surface, try to pull it straight out using your fingernails or needle nose pliers then pull the retainer out out the cover also then lift the black cover/screen off.

Someone here found the name and part number for these, if you damage them when removing. Sorry, but can't remember who provided this info.

The cowl mounting screws are called rivets. There are 7 of them for the complete cowl.

See page SPT-610 of the PT parts manual.

6502 573 RIVET, M4.9x14.5, Cowl Plenum Attaching
