You're right, Purple04. I'm not knocking the HHR's capabities. Both the PT and the HHR were designed by the same guy after all. I guess I'm trying to point out the..."aura" (for lack of a better word) of the car. How does it make you feel when you look at it? You know, the rush you get when you see a nice 69 Dodge Charger rumble by, or a Mustang fastback, or a Vette. Now I don't get that same kind of a rush when I look at my PT, but I DO feel something!

Personally, the HHR does nothing for me, except to remind me that the PT is a better looking car. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the HHR, but I don't like hearing folks bash the PT, just because there's new competition for it. Anyway, I'm probably preaching to the choir on this forum, so I'll climb back off my soapbox.

Saw one on the freeway in person. Bronze in color with michigan plates on it. They look kinda ugly from behind but ok overall. I mean it could look worse. [:0] But he found out after putting a few buslengths on him that my pt was not the one used for comparison in motor trend. [8)][?]

Thanks for the link. The HHR doesn't fare that well in Edmund's review, as it did in Motor Trend. When ever the PT is mentioned, it's better than the HHR. They also mention in the video that for the 24k you spend, you could get a turbo PT.

What I don't get is why GM has basically the same size storage capacity, but in a bigger car?

And they stole the PT's shelf too!!!

It's just not there. Tail lights are awkward. Interior is cheaply ugly. And most glaring...no rake. It doesn't sit like a "hot car" should. But I am certain that somewhere there is one already built with 24"rims, 60 kazillion megawatts of stereo, 30 monitors, playstation whatevers, color coordinated engine gizmos and a spoiler on the roof not unlike my wifes ironing board.
Motor Trend is infamous for favorably choosing those who pay for the most advertising. Bet it is "car of the year" too.

PT Cruiser
New Beetle
Mini
HHR

One down 3 to go.......I love all retro cars, but the PT will always be king[^]

check out new issue of motor trend, page 48. have the first head to head test of the new HHR and refreshed cruiser. article says the HHR is more pleasant to drive, but ultimately says it is a toss up and gives the HHR the nod because they think the cruisers styling is "er...more feminine." (their words, not mine) interesting read...
i saw a hhr on the road today. as for looks its about as ugly as the scion xb. the pt has been a proven winner and every other car maker wants thier version.

After finaly seing one in person I dont see how they compare it to the PT. In my opinion it fits into a class with the Honda Element and the scion version....not the PT...

The Detroit News did a comparision today in the papaer and they said they liked the PT better. They said the quailty and the new interior (2006) was much better. Also, they said the PT offered more power. I have seen a couple of the HHR's on the raod and I like them.
