I believe the HHR vs PT review was of the 2006 models, in which case:

1.There are no ceiling grab bars. But it's not like getting in and out of the PT is hard unless you're geriatric (which I was diagnosed with arthritis of the knee this week, so does that make me geriatric now?? )

2. There are three cupholders plus a cell phone slot in front of the armrest now.

I've never driven an HHR but I can make a few comparisons, based on some smaller design aspects that others here have brought up, between GMs and the PT, as I've driven only GMs prior to my PT.

The stock radios and speaker systems that GM uses are amazingly better than my stock radio in the PT. It makes me really sad how simple it sounds--and in a convertible too, where sound when the top down is a bit of a different issue. I really wish I could afford to replace the whole system and I wished that when I drove it off the lot.

However, the interior design of the PT is so much ridiculously better than any GM I've owned or spent a lot of time in. There are so many great touches that make it easy and the location of everything is really comfortable.

Those are small, less significant things, but the GMs I've driven are either small sedans or full-size trucks, neither of which compare in driving to the PT.

Riding as a passenger in the HHR I tend to reach up for the non-existant grab bar as my wife whips around a corner.... comes with 6 years of owning the PT. Maybe more alzheimer's, but I guess that's "geriatric" also... LOL

I must say I do like the Chevy sound system since it has the pioneer speaker/subwoofer unpgrade & XM. No subwoof in PT yet but that will be fixed ASAP

Fiddling with the cars yesterday reminded me how my golden retriever must feel about the Chevy. Whenever she goes for a ride I put down the rear seats in either PT and HHR and open the rear windows for her. Everything in the cargo space of the HHR is plastic... she ends up sliding all over the place and clawing onto whatever she can hold on to with no success. Like owner, like dog.... Now I move the back cargo carpet that came with the LT2 up near the window so she doesn't slide around too much. She hasn't told me, but I think she likes the PT interior over the HHR's.

Have fun!

I got in an HHR just before I bought my PT. OMG! It's DARK in there! Tiny windows, high dash, awful tiny little seats, cheap motel interior, it was one of the most unpleasant interiors I've ever been in. Have no idea why anybody would buy one. The PT by contrast is airy, great outward views, stunning and classy design features. I just hate the narrow PT seat cushions which pinch like mad.
