alright here i go,
im new to this forum and i hope you guys might be able to shed some light on a couple of little ailments troubling my cruiser (02 touring, 5 spd, 35k) ok actually it might be a little bit of three problems. 1st, i recently changed my plugs and while the upper intake was off i noticed a nice coat of oil along the inside of the intake runners, this prompted me to change the pcv valve. the plugs were very clean but showed definite wear. then when i looked at the egr return pipe that goes into the intake, i noticed a bit of a build up of crud which looked like, from what i have seen in the past, to be build up of oil going through the egr system. which brings me to my last problem, around 2500 rpm the car surges and seems to cut out. by the way i am going to take it to the dealer because it is still under warranty, but i am just curious what everybodys .02 might be. Thanks [^] |

Welcome to the forums.
Did you change wires, too? Stock wires are crap and start to go at 20,000 miles. Best wires for $ are Cranes at RaceAndStreet.Com. That might be your surging. A little oil film is normal. I don't like it gumming up intake, so I put in a ctach can - use the search function - here's one thread: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...erms=catch,can

Welcome to the forum and let me give you a little tip listen to QSD he is 99% on the money. I however prefer to use MOPAR high performance plug wires and NGK Iridium plugs. My experience in about 12,000 miles is perfect. Real smooth power at the very wide factory plug setting. If you can feel your car's engine idle now, then with this setup you cant. However I cant seem to find any product that will increase my mpg past the 18 in town and 25 on the open road. I do like speed!![8)]
