Cool Re: Thief strikes wife's PT

It seems to me that the tape would only hold for a short time on the exterior add ons. The weather whether hot, cold ,rain or snow would do damage to the tape. It seems many of the add ons for the Pts are held on by tape. The interior tape ons aren't so bad. the exterior- anyone knowing that the add ons are put on with weak clips and tape can steal any of it. To have another Pt Cruiser owner steal something of mine and put it on their car in the same neighborhood has no shame. I would ask that person where he got the parts from what company because some jerk stole mine off my car and I need to see where he got his to order some. See how he looks at you. You can tell at that point if he can't tell you where he got it he took it. I have done this before with my old Javelin a guy took my right headlight cover off and put it on his. He lived three blocks from me. (It had a blue dot of paint on the back side..color of my car his was red) I did this blue dot thing to parts under the hood too for mechanics that say they replaced a part when they didn't because the blue dot would show up. He showed up at a car meet I was at. I did to him what I mentioned above. His reaction gave him away. The cop who was showing his 55 Chevy the day listened to the whole thing. He was in plain clothes watched the guy while I took the cover off his car turned it over to see the blue paint dot and put it back on mine. The guy never admitted he took it but couldn't say where he got it. I never saw him again.

That sucks. And yes, PT'ers do steal from other PT'ers. Someone stole my custom license plate mount and I had to make another. Kind of a PITA. Who would be able to use it but another PT owner?

Post Re: Thief strikes wife's PT

You know it really pisses me off when I hear about people gettin their cars vandalized. Espically in the "PT Realm" We went to a show last year and some friends won 1st place in their class (we were 2nd place). They brought their trophy to the next show to display with their car and someone litterly smashed it to pieces. We just figured it was someones jealousy gettin the best of them. When it happens at a PT function or show it just makes it that much worse. Thinkin it might be someone you know. I just don't understand some people. Why can't they get a job and get their own stuff instead of takin someones elses.

...extra screws to install the part....
...extra bullets in the gun, just in case....!

A wise past Pope once said, "If we knew about all the evil in the world, we would go insane"! And, if we knew about all the evil people arouns us, we'd be paranoid. I'd just rather carry a gun!

Because I am a teenager, my friends think it's funny to 'egg' my car occasionally when it's supposed to be 98+ degrees the next morning. Vandalizing is no where near fun as I have done my fair share and it's not worth it!!
