I have been with USAA for over forty years and have NEVER had an issue on any claim.

I have GEICO,
I will never change insurance companies.
+1. I've had GEICO since I got back to the states( Oklahoma) in late '99. Had a hail claim on my car( which was less than 2 months old), in early '00. From the time I called them to them paying the claim it was 7 TOTAL days.
I have the military service & all the other bells & whistles that you can get. Roadside, rental car, ect.. With full maxed coverage on my PT. I pay $104/month. A bit steep, but when I need something done, or paperwork faxed they do it right then & there. I needed some paperwork for when I bought the PT, as I was talking to her, as soon as I gave her my fax number, it was coming though( well within a minute).
They never once questioned anything I claimed. My rates have NEVER gone up, even with the 2 speeding tickets I got.
I know of no one that has any bad thingfs to say about GEICO...well until they get caught street racing & then realize GEICO , is for family type people. Not for high risk drivers or cars.

I have heard HORROR stories about claims experiences with USAA. Low rates, you get what you pay for.

I have GEICO, and when my front bumper got scratched, they suggested sanding and painting. All I had to do was say I'd like to have it replaced and they said SURE, and then when I said I'd like to get a Crusher instead of OEM, they paid it, 100% less my deductible - all this with a smile and a check.

That was two years ago and my rates have not gone up.

I will never change insurance companies.
That is Amazing! Geico quoted me at twice what I paid with USAA; I'm surprised you got such a good deal with Geico and the custom parts - way to go!

I only recently switched my auto and home policies to Travelers because USAA homeowner's insurance is sky-high. I had an accident under USAA and they were awesome to work with - the accident was my fault, but they were great and when I moved from California to Texas, they dropped the rates back to pre-accident status with a longevity credit (although the drop was within 6 months of the mandatory 3 years before it falls off anyway...).

The chick (I say chick because she certainly wasn't a lady) at USAA that helped cancel my insurance received an earful for telling me that I was making a huge mistake in leaving USAA and "like, no other companies are, like, as strong as USAA." I suggested that their financial strength came from the sky-high premiums and that perhaps the company could reserve some of their profits to send her to customer service training. She even mis-quoted Travelers financial rating to justify her poor choice of words and the way she treated me for leaving.

My wife and I were sad to leave USAA - I've been with them for (gulp - feeling my age...) 18 years, and my wife for the last 10 we've been married, but we're going to be saving $1,000 per year with a combined homeowner's/ auto policy through Travelers for almost identical coverage. That plus the biatch in customer service made leaving not quite so painful.

Everyone settle down! I believe this was an isolated incident. I have used them and never had any problems before. I'm NOT switching to Geico or any other company--very happy overall with USAA! And yes you do get what you pay for!!! Things have worked their way out and I can move forward from here. I'm still not happy with my representative for this claim but...it happens sometimes. Should be back on the road in about a week. Enjoy the ride.[8)]
