Default Cruisers in MD. Beware!

Just be for warned, my PT got broke into in waldorf, maryland. they took all of my performance parts (turbo timer, gauges, BOV, air filter and various loose parts not yet installed. My car was dropped off at the shop to have upgrades put on and was violated. [|)] Keep your cruisers safe. Now I have the insurance to fight with...feels like I'm getting violated again. Enjoy the ride.

Really sorry to hear about your problems. Why should you have to fight with your insurance company? I think I'd get a new insurance company!

Good luck. Most insurance companies are a real pain to get any money from for damaged or stolen aftermarket stuff.

Umm, the place you had your car parked to do the work has insurance for these purposes. YOUR insurance company should have nothing to do with it. If they are a performance shop that has a sign posted that says something like "shop not responsable for vehicles left in the lot". Then run FAR away from that place. PLUS if you didnt park it there, like in they were working on it & THEY parked it there. THEY are responsible for it. Either way you need to file a claim with their insurance not your.
Even if you had the most respected Insurance company, I highly doubt they would cover it. They would also tell you( well they should have) to file a claim with the company.

Sorry to hear of the problems with your PT and insurance company. Hope you get them resolved to your satisfaction. Since you are in the military you qualify for USAA insurance. I have been with them for over 30 years and have nothing but good experiences with this company and their agents. Good luck.

Gary's right. I've had USAA all my life - first through my father, then through my own service - and they are the best. I could get cheaper insurance, but then I'd be fighting with insurance agents over what is covered and what isn't. I took a business trip to Orlando two months ago, left my mini ipod on the plane and because I carry a rider on my homeowner's for my computers, I had a check in a couple of days. I didn't even expect it to be covered!

Hate to be the bearer of bad new...I have USAA! I had other claims and things were great, this time not good at all. Today I had another situation; USAA contracted out an appraiser, the adjuster checked out the car (with out me there)and then never contacted me afterwards. I called and he said he was waiting for me to forward parts/price lists, I asked when were you going to let me know this information??? Anyway, sent it and waited three days then called to check status. Was told my adjuster was in the hospital for the past two days and nothing had been done. Was asked to re-send parts/prices to another adjuster, I asked for a confimation that information was received...nothing! Called USAA and said I was very unhappy with this claim from start to this point, not much resolution from that person. The USAA rep I have been assigned, I have spoken to her once three weeks ago when I made initial claim, everytime I call her I get voice mail and she has not returned any of my calls. I like USAA but have a real nasty taste in my mouth from this claim. Sorry to say it fellas.

speaking from the position of someone that deals with walmart on a daily basis. walmart itself wont help you. when you call in to walmart to complain immediately ask for CMI (claims management inc.) they handle all of walmarts litigation and such. Also do this WITHIN 30 days!!!! outside of 30 days the CCTV will be recorded over.

FYI

I have heard HORROR stories about claims experiences with USAA. Low rates, you get what you pay for.

I have GEICO, and when my front bumper got scratched, they suggested sanding and painting. All I had to do was say I'd like to have it replaced and they said SURE, and then when I said I'd like to get a Crusher instead of OEM, they paid it, 100% less my deductible - all this with a smile and a check.

That was two years ago and my rates have not gone up.

I will never change insurance companies.
