Well mine reset today with temperatures in the lower 50s...but the humidity was 25 percent. It has to be related to static charge...

Does this happen to anyone with a superground set up on their car? [:I] Maybe that is a cure.

I have had a '02 and now a '06 NA, neither has had "superground" and have had NO problems with the trip odometer resetting by itself.

I have an '03 GT and have had the flickering instrument lights and dimming of the headlights/domelight for some time now. I've also had my trip odo reset several dozen times and my radio would go on and off if I was sitting for a few moments at idle somewhere. My fan blower would also cycle high and low in concert with my dimming headlights.

I did put a Sun hyperground system on and it did not change a thing.

However, I see that several folks in this thread said that they had their batteries replaced and that seemed to fix it. I can vouch that it's not necessarily the new battery that fixes the problem, it's the battery connection(s)!

Last weekend, we cleaned up our GT's battery terminals (it still has the original battery) and really tightened the cables hard to the posts and it has completely fixed my flickering instrument lights and dimming headlights! I also have not had an odo reset nor has my radio gone off and on at idle since then. HURRAY!!

Well hold on about the trip reset...Unless it is in the 20s where you live that is when this problem occurres...cold and dry...it has to do with static...

No, I don't live in a cold place (East TN) nor is it relatively dry, humidity-wise, but I can say without reservation that cleaning up the battery terminals and tightening up the battery connections on my '03 GT completely cured my dimming/flickering headlights, dimming/flickering interior/instrument panel lights, radio cut-out, trip odo resets and fan blower speed changes. It's been several weeks since I've done it and it's still fixed.

So, if you're in warm, relatively humid areas, it'll probably work for you and if you're in the cold and dry, it won't hurt to try it. Much cheaper than taking it to the dealer!
