Default What I don't like about the Cruiser

Don’t get me wrong I love driving and modifying my Cruiser. I’ve wanted one since they first appeared but…….

But why did they:

Make it such a gas hog?
Make it so hard to change the halogen bulb in the headlight?
Not change the headlight to something that looks the part?
Change the taillight so that it was more retro?
Include an idiot light rather than an oil gauge?
Do something better with the space where the coin holder is?

Thanks for letting me vent. I’ll take a chill pill and go to my room.

QUESTION-----------------------ANSWER

Make it such a gas hog? Heavy car, big 4 cylinder
Make it so hard to change the halogen bulb in the headlight? Style over function
Not change the headlight to something that looks the part? More aerodynamic
Change the taillight so that it was more retro? Match the front?
Include an idiot light rather than an oil gauge? Yea, at least give us an optional gauge package!
Do something better with the space where the coin holder is? Someplace to keep tip money for when you cruise to the hamburger stand

This can all be addressed by aftermarket parts and money.

Why did they make the seats so high, not able to lower enough?
Why don't they offer a GT/SRT with Mopar dual exhaust, stage 2, bigger disc, and special colors?
Why is the Route 66 only available in N/A version?
Why isn't the 6 disc changer standard?
Why don't they offer solid bright red?
Why does the convertible top end before the body does?
Why isn't there a stop under the seats to keep things from rolling from back floor to front?
Why doesn't the bin under the seat actually hold cd's, not just promise to?
But I still love my 05 GT!

???? Mine does.....
But I still love my 05 GT!
Why'd they drop the flexible heated mirrors?? - at least make 'em an option......

That's right QSD, and sway bars too.
Maybe the big redesign in 08 will add some of these features back but they don't seem to be moving in that direction now.
I asked my dealer why they redesigned the front end this year and he said customers wanted a more "sporty" look. Who in the world buy's a PT because it's sporty looking? I bought it because of it's "retro" appearance!

1) Why does it have to turn on the AC when I want to defrost my windshield? I know it dries the air and clears the windshield faster in warm weather, But Sheesh, who wants cold air blowing on a winters morning before the car heats up? If it's not defrosting fast enough, let me decide when to turn on the AC.

2) What's up with the turning radius? Why does it have to be so big?

I wish the mileage was better but it is still the coolest car on the road to me.

1) It is common for the defroster to turn on the AC on cars. If the cold air bothers you, turn the temp control to max heat, that will solve that problem.
2) While I totally agree with you, front wheel drive cars typically suffer from larger turning circles than rear wheel drive cars. It obviously isn't considered to be a 'big deal' by Chrysler or they could have improved it some. You will also notice that the larger the stock wheel, the larger the turning circle to make sure their isn't any chance of tire rub.
