The milage will get better, but don't think it will ever get to 30.
We get 17 in town and about 15 on the highway with the n/a and the turbo lite gets about 1 - 2 less.

I thought the mileage sucked too.

Then I took out the back seats and it really improved.

But then when I removed the front passenger seat my mileage REALLY improved.

Helps not to have the wife along.

Get the oil changed. I was getting only about 14 mpg on my '05 turbo convert. After the first oil change it suddenly shot up to the 23-25 mpg range.

Something about the factory break-in oil results in the bad mileage.

The gas mileage is terrible on this PT but consider it's a not so refine 2.4L engine It's almost as big as a V6. The cars kinda heavy too. Deal with it. One think for sure is that I won't be buying chrysler for american for a long time to come until they starting to be serious with their cars like the Japs and the Euros

OK this week I did a little experiment. I have a manual and I've been driving real economical starting sunday. I keep myself from getting pass 2500RPM and try to press on the cluth and go into neutural as much as possible going downhill or if I can any change I get to get my RPM as low as possible and I find that my gass mileage improve ALOT!........after 4 days my Tank is only 1/2 empty usually by day 4 with my fast driving the tank would be down to 1/3 if not worst 1/4.

The downside is that I really need to concentrate most of the time and the car will never go over 60mph to keep it under 2500rpm

I have a 2006, no turbo, and only have 1500 miles on it so far. Have not been out of town with it yet, but I get 20 to 24 around town. I installed a Tornado on it and put a Airaid aircleaner on it. Am going to Vancouver, Washington the first of the month and will know what I get on the highway at that time. [?]

My milage was not too great when I bought my Cruiser 325km / 215 miles per tank, after I added the cold air intake the milage went up a bit. Once the engine breaks in it will give better milage. The other thing that I did to improve the power and milage was to add Bassini dual exhaust without the baffles. I did seem to find a sweet spot somewhere around 62mph that the engine liked, Last year I came home from Cleveland Rocks doing exactly 55mph in Ohio, 65 mph in Michigan and about the same in Ontario and the PT ended up going 635km (maybe 460miles) on a tank of Super. I did notice that filling the PT with super makes a difference on the hiway along with driving the engine on Cruise just below the point where the engine works hard. Sure wish DC sold he 2.2 turbo diesel in North america it gets 58mpg

I was getting 17+ on my '06 GT at first. Changed to Mobil One at 3,000. How with 4,800+ miles on the clock I am getting 21+. Have not taken a long trip yet to see what I would get on a full tank on the highway.
