Default Check Problem Codes Yourself!

I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought this gets the most traffic, a fellow Cruiser member (AJ) dropped by my house yesterday and showed me a trick I never knew about. You can check yourself if any problem codes ring up on your Cruiser. all you do is put the keys in the ignition, turn to on and off (don't start engine) 5 times, on the 5th ON position leave it there and look at the odometer. if you car checks out you will see it read "done" in my case it displayed 2 codes. if you show a code you go to allpar web site and look up the codes #'s My two said, I had stage 1, which I did, plus that my battery was moved, which I also did. this was so cool to discover, maybe most of you know this but I'm sure a few didn't. gary[?][^]

Gary, that info has been around the forums for a while. Only one correction, 3 times is the magic number to turn the key to the "on" position without starting.

[8)]Chrysler has always been user friendly. Way back in 1987 on my Lebaron...you could get the codes the same way....also my 1989 Plymouth Acclaim also was the same way....

Now that you know how to check the codes, do you know what the codes mean?

This also works with Fords.

Stick a potato up the tailpipe and watch it turn into a POS before you ever would have know otherwise.

Click on this link, once you got the code list print it out and keep in the glove box or something.
