locked out by the anti-theft system

Has anyone been " locked out" by their anti-theft system? Maybe it is only the new 06s, but on Christmas morning, for gods sake, while warming up and loading our new PT, ( with 1500 miles on it) the computor deciced it was being stolen.... not knowing anything about this anti-theft system, which on the fourth try shuts down everything, we kept tring to restart it; 2nd and third try just the fuel pump is out. Major pain in the butt and can not be eliminated. New keys have their own micro-chip to "talk" to the main computor. If your new PT refused to stay started DO NOT give it a 4th attempt, try your other key or call Customer Care. Also new keys are $100 or more a pop.

One time and just the one time my '01 would not stay started. Cannot remember know many times I tried. After taking the key out I tried again. Started right up. I would guess that it failed to read the key and I needed to remove the key so it could be read again.
